I formed Charnock Bates in 1992 in Halifax after spending the majority of my professional career working within Central Government in Harrogate. Whilst I have extensive knowledge of the area of Harrogate I chose Halifax as an area to set up Charnock Bates because that was my place of birth. The experience that I achieved within the District Valuers Office was invaluable for my future life and provided me with the foundations of a professional background and ultimately gave me the confidence to venture out onto my own. Since that date I have had no regrets and as a result of this Charnock Bates have now established themselves as a market leader in the sales of Country Houses, Listed Buildings and Period Homes in the West Yorkshire area.
The company has grown substantially over the years yet still prides itself in providing independent advice which is based upon years of experience in the property market in the region. Managing the sale of residential properties in the most desirable of locations, from the rural areas of Kirklees and the prestigious residential locations of outer Leeds, and period properties throughout Calderdale to the rural areas of Ripponden and Barkisland, the picturesque Calder and Luddenden Valleys and the much sought after residential areas of Savile Park, Skircoat Green and Norwood Green.

Therefore, in order to ensure a satisfactory conclusion to a sale, a keen eye for detail is absolutely essential throughout the whole of the sale process. In 2012 we are celebrating our 20th anniversary of being in business as an independent company within West Yorkshire. To celebrate this and to further enhance the service that we offer to our clients, both vendors and prospective buyers, at the beginning of 2012 we are opening a new office in Ripponden. This will greatly assist us in promoting the company further In between Calderdale and Manchester throughout the Ryburn Valley. Additionally, we have just launched a new website which is more contemporary in design than our previous one, yet provides more information and at the same time remains user friendly.
Whilst the internet is acknowledged as being of great importance in the 21st century, it should not be forgotten that personal contact is as important even today.
